Season’s Greetings

Winter’s darker days and longer nights are the mood lighting for what we do best in this season: hibernate.

Just when our culture pulls us toward more parties and to-do lists than ever, this seasonal force of nature drags us into energetic respite. So what’s a busy business owner to do?

Flow, man. Wallow inside with a book. (It can be John Jantsch’s latest, “The Commitment Engine: Making Work Worth It”, if it eases your guilt.) Bundle up and defy the wind when your cabin fever gets too high. Work when you’re in the groove, and remember that not working can be as important for your business as burning midnight bulbs.

Homework: If your work has a seasonal spike, build in time off soon after for essential repair and recovery.
