When Do You Share Your Goals?

A television writer friend of mine never talks about what he’s writing; he says it dilutes his need to express it. Artist, Inc.’s recent facebook post referenced Derek Sivers TED talk, recommending that you not share your goals.  I say if your goals feel at all fragile — you know, the ones you’ve only barely admitted to yourself, for they’re at that “So Absurd” stage? — keep them to yourself until they’re walking more strongly.  Then share with those who throw good vibes at your momentum.

And to those who would diminish your goals?  Well, why are you talking to them at all?
